FAQ

Distributor

How do I place an order?

Email your purchase order (PO) to orders@securitybrands.com. All purchases are completed via email; Security Brands is unable to process orders over the phone.

New distributors should contact our sales team to set up an account with us: sales@securitybrands.com / (972) 474-6390

How long does it take to receive product?

Typically, product will be shipped the same day if the item is in stock and the order is received by 1pm Central Time. Special orders and back-ordered products may not be able to ship the same day. Security Brands recommends keeping products in stock or ordering multiple keypads, card readers, etc. to reduce wait time. If 2-day or overnight shipping is required, include this information on your PO.

Dealer/Installer

How do I place an order?

Place an order through a Security Brands distributor. All orders must be placed through an approved Security Brands distributor.

Should I test the product before installing it?

All products have been thoroughly tested before they leave Security Brands, however, we do recommend testing before you install the product.

When you receive the product, start the activation process and pre-program the unit before you complete on-site installation (for Ascent devices only). This ensures an account is already created for the end user before arriving on site and speeds up the entire process.

If there is a problem with the product, confirm it is receiving the proper amount of power. If there is still an issue, contact Security Brands Technical Support for assistance at (972) 474-6390.

How can I test cellular coverage at the installation site?

Before purchasing a cellular keypad, we recommend going on site to confirm cellular service is available and that it has a strong signal. Download the Opensignal app to verify the site has cellular coverage.

Can I use the existing gate operator system?

When installing a new unit on an existing system, make sure adequate wiring is in place and fully functional. Security Brands units work best on shielded, stranded wiring. Installations using solid-core wiring are more susceptible issues and malfunctions.

After installation is complete, what information needs to be given to the site owner/end user?

For Ascent products, leave the Activation Guide with the end user. Installers may help their customers sign up for their Summit Control account and activate their Ascent unit(s) if they so chose.
